A Valley Stream man was fatally shot in Jamaica, Queens on Friday.

Police say at 2:21 p.m. they responded to a 911 call for a male shot at the intersection of Merrick Boulevard and Sayres Avenue.

They found 49-year-old Richard Carter, of Valley Steam, with multiple gunshot wounds to his torso.

Carter was transported to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Police say no arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
